If you want to skip your period or delay menstruation, there’s a way to do this with the birth control pill. Many reasons can require you to desire that Aunt Flo delays a visit or doesn’t come round at all. Because the menstruation period comes as a result of the ceasing of the birth control pill or the lack of egg fertilization, there are ways to trick the body so that you don’t menstruate.

Is it Safe To Skip A Period?

A woman’s body menstruates because she’s not pregnant. In olden times when women had many more babies, their bodies were not accustomed to working so hard to build up and then shed that blood in the uterine wall. Some research suggests it may be unhealthy to have constant periods from age 12 to 50. Today women are having fewer babies (if any) and there’s an increase in reproductive organ cancers.  There are new birth control pills such as Yasmin that help you skip your period by the dose of hormones. If you don’t want to go on this specific pill, you can do it on your own.

Many women skip the inactive placebos at the end of their package and start a brand new pack of pills straight away to miss their period. This is untested by HealthNiche.ca  so use at your own risk and consider being cautious about alternate methods of contraception as well. Some doctors say this method is acceptable and others indicate that doing this poses a risk so using a specially designed birth control known as a monophasic pill instead of a triphasic pill could be a better way to prevent your period.
